Road closed at Marton due to flooding

Heavy showers this afternoon (Tuesday) have led to some roads carrying surface water and even some minor flooding.

The A156 High Street, Marton, is currently closed, and some other minor roads affected.

Other closed roads in West Lindsey are: Gainsborough Road at Middle Rasen, Tealby Road at Market Rasen and Bully Hill at Tealby.

A spokesman from Lincolnshire Police said drivers should be aware that they could drive round a bend and be faced with deep standing water.

“Please drive according to the conditions, which generally means travelling slower and allowing more time for any journey,” they said.

Dipped headlights should also be used.

Further heavy downpours are expected this evening, particularly in the north of the county.
