Rotary club offering support to local groups

The Rotary Club of Worksop wants to hear from local groups who are making a real difference in their community.

The club is asking groups based in or serving Worksop to apply for funding to give them a helping hand.

Rotary Club president Graham Warburton said: “Over the years the Worksop Rotary Club has thanked local people for their generous support for our fund raising activities.”

“We are now planning to distribute money the club has raised to selected local worthy causes and we are asking charities and organisations in the Worksop area to come forward if they are in need of support.”

“We want to hear from voluntary groups who can demonstrate how they are helping locally and why they need our help.”

“We will consider all applications in order to decide which to support. Our own organisation takes nothing for administration as all our funds go direct to what we believe to be good causes.”

Any group or organisation wanting to apply for funding need to complete a simple application form which can be obtained by contacting President Graham Warburton on 01909 489188.

The form asks about the work of the group or organisation as well as why support is being sought and the amount requested.

The deadline for returning application forms is 29th October and none will be considered after that date.

Successful applicants will be notified within two weeks of the closing date and will be featured in a future edition of the Guardian.
