Rotherham: Inspectors praise hospital trust

Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspector visited Rotherham Hospital over two days focusing on A&E, admissions wards, midwifery, governance and infection control.

TRFT said the feedback from the CQC was positive and a particular highlight of the inspection was the feedback patients gave to inspectors.

As part of the inspection the following standards were met - consent to care and treatment, care and welfare of people who use services, cleanliness and infection control, requirements relating to workers, supporting workers and assessing and monitoring the quality of service provision.

Sue Cassin, chief nurse and Dr Dave Tooth, Rotherham GP and chair of NHS Rotherham CCG, said: “This is fantastic news for our patients.”

“We are delighted to hear the TRFT has been recognised, by the CQC, for the high quality of service it gives to patients.”
