Now well-known and valued members of the college, the staff commemorated their 20 years of service last month with a delicious meal in the Wharncliffe restaurant where they were presented with a gift and certificate by Gill Alton, college principal and chief executive, and Ken Barrass, chairman of the corporation.

“It was a pleasure to celebrate the long service of twelve members of staff who have made a huge contribution to the success of the college,” said Mrs Alton.

The twelve members of staff celebrating their 20 years of service were Julia Arechiga, Glenn Burrows, Dionne Coggins, Janet Fawley, Lesley Gleadall, Julie Howe, Helen Lockwood, Ian Marshall, Jan Milton, Jackie Morton, John Wagstaff and Janice Wombwell.

“It says something when you’ve been here for 20 years,” commented Julia Arechiga.

“ You see things come and go and become a work family that becomes important.”
