Rotherham: Six in court over Rotherham cannabis farm

Six men have appeared in court charged with drugs offences following the discovery of a cannabis farm in Rotherham.

Police were called to an industrial unit in Eden Close, Hellaby, Rotherham, to reports of a suspected burglary.

Upon arrival, officers discovered up to 3,000 cannabis plants.

The men charged are Michael Charles Ward, 22, Philip Agostinho, 24, Karl West, 28, Jemal Mehmat Ali, 23, Tuan Phan, 35, and James Mattin, 22. They are all from London.

Each man was charged with one count of conspiracy to produce cannabis and one count of conspiracy to supply cannabis.

The men didn’t enter a plea when they appeared before Rotherham Magistrates Court.

They were remanded in custody and will make their first appearance at Sheffield Crown Court on Friday 22nd November.
