Rotherham: The Woodlands celebrates Dementia Awareness Week with a special party

Inpatients and day service users from all around Rotherham had an afternoon treat, with a tea dance, singing and cakes at an event to celebrate Dementia Awareness Week.

Held at The Woodlands, which is run by Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH), the party was attended by around 50 people.

Support Worker, Karen Bradder, said: “All our guests had great fun, singing and dancing.

Patients and staff at The Woodlands baked the cakes and buns themselves.”

They made so many that there are a lot left over, and these will be shared out so that the patients who couldn’t come to the party will still get a treat.”
