The RSPB is inviting people to join them on a date to celebrate the biggest wildlife survey in the world tomorrow (Saturday) at Rufford Abbey.

Big Garden Birdwatch has been running for 35 years this year and to celebrate this milestone, the RSPB is holding a guided ramble to find the enigmatic hawfinch, followed by the opportunity to take part in the annual survey.

The hawfinch ramble is from 9am to 11am with the Big Garden Birdwatch survey and activities following on at the country park until 2pm.

The RSPB’s Roseanna Burton said: “The event is the perfect opportunity to get up close and personal to some of the rare visitors and residents on site.”

The event is free although donations are welcomed. To book places on the hawfinch ramble, call 01623 821336.
