Lunettes Opticians, in Ruskington, has been shortlisted for Young Practice of the Year in the AOP (Association of Optometrists) Awards 2017.

The award scheme, in the words of the AOP, aims to celebrate ‘extraordinary talent and outstanding contributions’ from across the optics profession.

The Young Practice of the Year category is open to practices established in the last five years. Lunettes Opticians is one of three finalists in its category, with the winner being decided by public vote.

Optometrist and manager Claire Wood, from Navenby, said: “We are really delighted to have been shortlisted for this prestigious industry award.”

Henrietta Alderman, AOP chief executive, said the Awards which is now in its sixth year, ‘celebrates the talent and expertise of practitioners who contribute so much to the public and profession’.

She added: “This year we have seen some remarkable entrees who demonstrate real commitment and skill in delivering for patients as well as playing an important role in the optical community. We are looking forward to giving them the recognition they deserve.”

Lunettes Opticians was first established in Sleaford in 1992, opening practices in Grantham in 1997 and Ruskington in 2012.

Clair added: “When we established the practice in 1992 our focus was to be at the heart of the community and offer excellent patient care. This nomination recognises the hard work and dedication of the whole team in achieving this goal.”
