Scaffolding marks start of cottage restoration programme

This will allow full examination of the roof timbers to ensure the cottage, which has been closed to the public since 2013, can be made structurally safe again.
Last year, North Kesteven District Council’s Heritage Lottery Fund gave money to help bring the cottage back into use by 2019. It will show visitors what life was like in an early Victorian, Lincolnshire cottage.

There is a free drop-in session at NKDC’s Navenby office, in North Lane, from 10am to noon on March 15, to volunteer, offer opinions on the project and share any memories of the cottage and Mrs Smith.
