Budding builders and the next generation of electricians and plumbers can all enter for the chance to win a trade business pack worth £10,000 containing everything they need to set up on their own.

This year’s winner will receive a business pack including a Google Nexus tablet and a laptop, as well as £5,000 worth of Screwfix products and up to £3,000 to spend on training courses to further enhance their career.

If you have passed your course with excellent results, offered great customer service when out and about, or have worked on an unusual job with your boss then go along and apply at the local Screwfix store, or online at www.screwfix.com/sfta.

Trade apprentices from across the region are invited to enter, with finalists from around the UK going head to head at Google HQ to be named the best in Britain.

John Mewett, marketing director at Screwfix, said: “As a key supplier to the trade we believe it’s vital that we recognise and reward the future tradesmen across the UK as they really are the foundation of any community, ensuring homes and businesses are fit for purpose.

“This competition has been created to give young apprentices a first step on the ladder in their career and give them the tools to help them to build a successful business.”

Entries are open until Sunday March 6, and the finalists will go head to head at Google’s head office in April.
