Dippy was rescued at one-week-old in December last year.

After two-and-a-half months at Natureland Seal Sanctuary, Dippy reached the required weight of 36 kilograms and was released on Thursday, March 2, by Ella Yeaden, seretary at Natureland Seal Sanctuary.

It was a sunny morning so lots of people were on the beach to see Dippy’s release.

Cheryl Yeaden, manager at Natureland Seal Sanctuary, explained that although he was initially reluctant, Dippy soon found his confidence.

Cheryl said: “It is a really joyous thing that they are going back to the wild where they came from.”
