Selfless Langold chemist walked miles in the snow to make sure poorly residents got prescriptions

Micheal Mustoe, manager of Langold pharmacy on Doncaster Road, was presented with the accolade in a surprise ceremony recently.

Sheila Plaice, who lives nearby, contacted the Guardian to nominate Michael who she says is “always going out his way” to help customers who rely on the pharmacy.

Sheila said: “It snowed heavily earlier this year and Micheal, who lives in Worksop, walked all the way to Langold in treacherous conditions to open the pharmacy and ensure many residents in need had access to essential medicine.

“What he did helped a lot of people, particularly elderly and poorly residents who really needed their prescriptions.

“He is always friendly and greets people with a smile, making sure they feel looked after and reassured, and is very loved by all his staff too.

“I thought it would be lovely to recognise him with a Guardian Rose and let him know how much he is appreciated in the Langold community,” Sheila added.

Micheal, who has worked at the pharmacy for more than twelve years, said he was “delighted” to have been nominated and that receiving the Guardian Rose was a “lovely surprise.”
