Seaview then took control, running out 9-3 winners with Kristian Thein (2x100, 140, and 110 finish), Tony Parkin (7x100, 108, 140), Nathan Careless (8x100, 137, 2x140, 180), and Kev Barker (5x100, 121) throwing well.

Cobras had Darrell Webb (5x100, 120) on the sheet.

League newcomers The Attic survived a fightback at Ex Service Sport to win 8-4.

Attic took a 6-0 lead with Ben Pritchard (2x100, 105), Greg Richardson (8x100, 2x140), Charlie Kemp (5x100, 120, 5x140, 180 and doubles legs of 17 and 18, along with partner Rob Hewson, who hit 11 tons or better including a 180, and singles legs in 16, 17, and 20 darts) impressing.

Jonathan Thorndike hit 11, and a 17 darter, as Attic had 47 shots of 100 or better.

Sports had Gary Garton hitting six sheet shots, Pete Evans eight and Bradley Martin with 13 including a 19 darter, in a game with 79 high scores.

Red Arrows are doing well in Division One, hitting some good scores through Stuart Hodson (5x100, 2x140), Richard Jackson (2x100, 2x121, 135) and Mark Simpson (4x100, 135), but still ended up the wrong side of a 10-2 result against Rowdy Mob.

Rick Garner (7x100, 125, 139, 4x140), Martin Bell (8x100, 120, 2x140) and Mark Forman (2x100, 110, 2x121, 125, and 180) were the pick of the Mob players.

There were 70 high scores as Highwayman won a thriller 7-5 against Ex Service 501s

The Highwayman held the advantage after the first set of singles, leading 3-2 helped by a cracking 13 dart leg from Wayne Clarke (3x100, 2x121, 2x140, 160). Both teams took one each of the doubles and trebles, leaving them leading 4-3 going into the last set of singles and all to play for.

Scott Smith (2x123, 135, 2x140, 180) gave the Highwayman a 5-3 lead, only for Carl Abbiss (100, 121, 2x125, 124, 2x140 and a 17 and 18 dart leg) get the 501s to within one again with his win over Lee Dore senior (7x100, 119, 140).

Dave Brewin (133, 171, 106) and an 18-dart finish then beat Wayne Burles (2 x 100, 132) to restore the two point lead at 6-4. Carl Parnham (4x100, 121, 3x140, 180, 12 finish, 128 finish) set up the deciding match between Highwayman captain Wayne Clarke and Scott Sutton (5x100, 121, 2x140, 170 101 finish and a 15-dart leg), and it was Clark who sealed the win.

In the Piper Window Systems Ltd Division Two, Cricket Club are looking for a swift return to the top flight as they hammered Welcome Hillbillies 8-0. Setting the standard were Lewis Rawlings’ 3x100, 140, Paul Lucas’ 2x100, 125, Adam Ford’s 2x100, 125 and Steve Bourke’s 100, 138

Seaview Raiders lost 5-3 to WMC Aces. With the help of Gareth Jowett (3x100, 2x125, 140) and Kyle Davis (117, 121, 127, 133, 171, 19 dart leg) the Aces lead 3-2 after the first set of singles, and the game was perfectly poised. However the Aces took both the doubles and trebles to lead 5-2 with only the team game left, which the Seaview won, but it was too little, too late

Vine Allstars and Liberal Us shared the spoils with a 4-4 draw in a thriller.

Matt Reeson (2x100, 121) and Stewart Giles (100, 125) , gave the Us a 2-0 lead, but with N. Bradley (121, 125, 140) and M. Spence (2 x 123, 140) levelled for the Allstars.

Phil Johnson gave the Us the advantage 3-2, Allstars coming back winning both the doubles and trebles to lead 4-3, only to see the Liberal win the team game to tie things up.

The final game saw Liberal Lads take on Ex Service Spitfires in a high-scoring game with 34 scores of 100 or better, as Spitfires won 6-2.

Both these teams will be there or there abouts come May, with Liam Simms (100, 113, 140), Lee Woods (2x100, 132) and Rick Seaman (2x100, 123, 180) leading the way for Spitfires. The Lads had Mark Carter (2x100, 125, 134), Rob Pomeroy (2x100, 125, 129), and Terry Cox (100, 121, 125) as the pick of their scorers.

Mark Carter shrugged off his tag of underdog to defeat Carl Parnham 2-0 in the first Swap Your Dart knockout tournament.

The event took place at the Liberal Club with an encouraging field of 40 taking the oche..

With added prize money Penham collected £70 and he really earned the money as he did not play with the same set of darts twice.

The leg of the day had to have been between Eric Hammond and Wayne Clarke as both players hit 180.

Sarah Louise Ashley picked up the furthest lady prize.
