Severe damage following blaze at workshop in Tealby

Eight fire appliances attended a fire at Jim's Yard workshop in Bully Hill Top, Tealby, yesterday evening (February 29), in which two vehicles, a caravan and a farm building were severely damaged.

The eight fire appliances attended the furniture workshop shortly after 6pm yesterday, and this was scaled back to two appliances by 9pm.

Three main jets and six breathing apparatus were used to tackle the blaze, in addition to one hose reel and a thermal image camera.

As of 4.50am today (March 1), Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue reported that there had been severe fire damage to two vehicles, one caravan, and 20 per cent of a farm building. There were no injuries.

The cause of fire is currently under investigation.

A statement on the Jim’s Yard Facebook page said: “Thank you all for your messages of love and support after the fire last night. Lots of damage but no one hurt.

“So grateful to Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue for their amazing response in high winds and challenging conditions to save our shed.

“Jim’s Yard will be closed today for the fire investigation and for us to assess the damange.

“Bricktree Gallery and the Salvage Shed hope to be open later in the week so watch this space.

“incolnshire Tree Services sent one team of (sooty) tree surgeons out today but business as usual for our dedicated staff.
