As a way of saying thank you Sue’s friend Maureen Singh presented her with our Guardian Rose.

Maureen, who also volunteers in the charity shop, said: “Sue always goes that extra mile to help people.”

“She is salt of the earth, a proper Yorkshire lass.”

“She supports the volunteers in the shop and always helps out the customers.”

“I recently had an operation and she has rallied round to help and has gone out of her way to give me some support. She is like that with everyone.”

“Another example of how kind-hearted she is, is her neighbour.”

“He is 90-years-old and she looks after him.”

“He has family who help, but Sue has taken him under her wing and make sure that he is ok.”

“When our manager Liz started last year it was Sue who showed her the ropes.”

Sue was shocked to receive the rose infront on customers on a busy afternoon in the charity shop.

She said: “It’s a huge surprise, but a lovely one.”
