'˜Shout out' to Boston student Chloe at the Brits

We've got to '˜Salute' Boston performer Chloe Maddison after she was selected to dance with Little Mix on stage at this year's Brit Awards.

The 19-year-old was still coming down to earth after the ‘unbelievable’ evening where she took to the stage with the popular girl band at London’s 02 Arena.

Chloe, who went to Giles Academy and is now studying at the Wilkes Academy of Performing Arts in Swindon, said: “It was a brilliant night. I still can’t believe it.

“The whole thing was kept under secrecy until the night.”

Chloe was one of 40 dancers selected by Little Mix’s choreographer Elizabeth Honan to perform to their hit ‘Shout Out to My Ex’ at the opening of the Brits.

She joined an army of dancers dressed head to toe in silver on the famous O2 stage.

She said: “We were asked by commercial dance agency Dancers Inc to audition and 50 of us went into the audition. Their choreographer chose 40 girls from the audition and we went into rehearsals with the band on the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday before the ceremony.

“The atmosphere at the academy the next day was amazing.

“We got to meet Little Mix and they are really nice people, very down to earth.

“We didn’t go to the after party though as we’d been rehearsing non-stop for two days.”

Chloe studied performing arts at Giles Academy and also attended the Dance Krazy school in Benington.

She said: “I got the opportunity to audition for Wilkes Academy from Emma Linley my performing arts teacher at Giles Academy.

“I’m hoping after I graduate that I’ll move onto performing on the cruise ships or the West End.

Principal at Wilkes Academy of Performing Arts, Jonathan Wilkes, said: “We are very proud of Chloe and all the performers.”

Little Mix were formed after the eighth series of TV’s The X Factor in 2011.

They were signed by Simon Cowell.

Band members are Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall.

Since The X Factor, they have gone on to have massive hits with songs ‘Salute’, ‘Wings’, Black Magic’ and ‘Shout Out to My Ex’ (which won a Brit Award for British Single of the Year at this year’s ceremony.).

The band’s fourth studio album, which was called ‘Glory Days’ became their first number one album in the UK.

It was also the longest reigning number one by a girl group since the Spice Girls’ hugely successful debut album ‘Spice’ 20 years ago.
