Officials hope Ms Silver will spearhead the continued development of LIVES - while helping maintain its charitable status.

Ms Silver has been working for the Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust where she was Deputy Director of Operations of Family and Healthy Lifestyle Services and Urgent Care.

She has a wealth of business leadership and commercial experience after graduating from the University of Auckland in 1994 with a Masters in Politics.

More recently, she was awarded a Masters in Healthcare Leadership
from the University of Birmingham.

LIVES Clinical Director Doctor Simon Topham said: “Nikki has a proven track record in leadership, strategic thinking, communication, change management, financial planning, workforce planning, and development and engagement.

“At LIVES, we have recognised that we have evolved over the last 45 years to be the highly professional, proficient and effective leader in the field of community responding.

“We have grown to the point where we now need strong leadership and strategic direction to meet the ever-changing health arena in which we volunteer.

“We believe LIVES can develop a place for those people to care for their community in a different way.

“We also recognise, with the centralisation of services such as Major Trauma Centres, that the people of Lincolnshire are a long way from these.

“LIVES has the experience and personnel to look at delivering more ‘critical care’ services to our communities, through high-end development of
LIVES Medics.

“All of these things need strategy, planning, funding and engagement.

“The arrival of our first ever CEO, Nikki Silver, will create the platform for these things to happen.

“We believe there are exciting times ahead.”
