Skate parks and a MUGA planned for North Lincolnshire – have your say

North Lincolnshire Council is asking people for their views on plans for new skate parks in Barton and Winterton, and a Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) in Gunness and Burringham.

All residents, especially young people across North Lincolnshire are being invited to share their thoughts on the planned new sport and leisure facilities, by taking part in the consultations. This will help identify if these facilities are what young people want and if they will suit their needs.

There are three different schemes that the council is currently consulting on:

Barton Skate Park – the council is working with Baysgarth School in Barton to look at the possibility of locating a skate part in the school grounds.

Winterton Skate Park – the council is looking into installing a skate part at Winterton Rangers Football Club.

Gunness and Burringham MUGA – the council is looking into locating a Multi-Use Games Area on the playing field site at Stone Lane in Burringham.

These surveys are giving young people a great opportunity to have their say on how they would like the facilities to look and what should be included, for example the design of the ramps and types of jumps at the skate parks.

The council is also keen to hear from all residents about the sport facilities, not just young people, as everyone will be able to access them.

To have your say please complete the surveys online by visiting www.northlincs.gov.uk/currentconsultations.

It will only take a few minutes to complete each of the surveys and will help shape the future of sport and leisure facilities on offer in North Lincolnshire.

You have until Wednesday 11 March to complete the surveys.

Councillor Carl Sherwood (pictured), cabinet member for customer services, sport and leisure, said: “We want to hear from the young people and adults who would use these facilities as they know what would work best. It is important that the sport and leisure facilities that we provide are of the highest standard and meet everyone’s needs.

“Complete the online survey and give us your ideas on what you would like the skate parks and MUGA to look like. It is always fantastic to get feedback from residents and listen to their ideas.

“We will take all views into consideration before any final decisions are made. Don’t miss out on the chance to tell us what you think about the plans.”
