Sleaford cadets fly to Canada

Two members of the Sleaford detachment of the Lincolnshire Army Cadet force have flown to Canada for a six-week exchange project.

Cadet LCpl Lewis Needham, 16, Cadet Cpl Tom Hurry, 17, flew out in mid-July as part of the 2016 Canada Exchange project.

Lewis is taking part in the exchange programme for the first time, which includes attending a Canadian Cadet summer camp at Whitehorse, in the Yukon Territory.

There, he was presented with a certificate after being selected as the best cadet for his attitude and achievements during the first few days of the camp.

Tom has previously taken part in the exchange as a cadet and this time will be looking to build on his leadership skills acting as one of the staff cadets. His camp is taking place at Argonaut in New Brunswick.
