Sleaford Town Awards - community award/charity of the year nominee - Neil Donner and Drivers4Defibs

The masterminds behind the creation of a naked truckers calendar, a fun day and a benefit single for charity are up for a Sleaford Town Award.

Neil Donner of Sleaford and fellow members of Drivers4Defibs are nominated for the Community Award and Charity of the Year. Drivers4Defibs was set up by Neil and friends to raise thousands for public defibrillators for the Shock Sleaford campaign. They have made two cheeky calendars of truckers posing in the nude as well as holding a fun day in Billinghay which they hope to repeat.

Neil, along with fellow drivers Fred Bradshaw, Dan Couling, Dennis Darmon and Neil Ellis have recorded songs for a CD just released in aid of LIVES. Neil has also written several books for charity. Neil said without LIVES he would not have his family: “Forty years ago my wife Sally got off the school bus and was hit by a car. A LIVES doctor kept her alive at the roadside. A LIVES responder also helped keep my disabled daughter, Sophia, alive.”
