Despite the high winds on Friday, the gust had dropped by the evening and festival-goers were treated to a weekend of blazing sunshine.

The RE-Source living solar generator unit produced more than 11 kwh of power on Saturday alone, while the Kaplick solar stage showcased a wide range of music from Ska to jazz to rock to folk.

The Acoustic stage also ran through the weekend with a wide range of acts. Workshops included canal art, graffiti, Circus skills and parkour, junk instrument making, music workshops.

On the schools days RSPB and National trust also provided workshops.

Food was provided by ‘Start to finish’ from Dunham on trent.

The whole event was powered by renewable energy, so there was even solar-powered candy floss to try.

Tuxfest, which has been running for three years, is organised by The Buzzy Beatz Collective and is rapidly becoming an established event in the local area - drawing a national audience this year as well as many with camping.

Buzzy Beatz organiser Lis Harris thanked everyone who helped make this year’s Tuxfest a fantastic success.

“I would like to say thank you to all the volunteers, fundraisers and communities which took part in this year’s event,” she said.

“The Buzzy Beatz collective are already looking to 2014 and subject to funding wish to roll the event out across more locations bringing arts, music and new experiences to schools and communities in rural areas.”
