Sock thief up in court

A WORKSOP woman breached her suspended sentence by stealing 23 pairs of socks a court heard.

Beverley Elizabeth Pashley, 43, of Newcastle Avenue, admitted theft from a shop at Worksop Magistrates Court on Thursday.

The court heard on 28th July Pashley was seen by the Poundland assistant store manager acting suspiciously.

She was seen placing items into her shoulder bag, before leaving without paying. She was arrested and admitted taking the socks, worth £23.

The court heard Pashley had been given a nine month suspended prison sentence for a previous offence.

The case was committed back to Nottingham Crown Court for sentencing, at a date to be decided.
