Sorry for taking bag

A BAG-SNATCHER has told a court she is sorry for stealing another woman’s belongings on a night out.

Tracy Richardson, 37, of Gorselands Avenue, Worksop, told magistrates she did not know why she took an abandoned handbag in Disraeli’s pub on 10th September.

Catherine Picardo, prosecuting, said the pink plastic handbag was left momentarily by Susan Keith, who returned to find it missing.

A witness pointed Richardson out to police, who recovered a mobile phone and a purse from her.

Defending, Andrew Osborne said: “She’s very sorry for what she’s done and is concerned what people might think of her. She wishes to apologise to the person whose bag it was.”

Magistrates fined Richardson £75 and £25 victim surcharge, but no costs because of her limited income.
