Anthony Marsh, 53, from Sheffield, and Lee Davis, 39, from Conisbrough were both sentenced to life at Sheffield Crown Court with Marsh ordered to serve a minimum of 10years while Davis was told he will serve a minimum of 12 and a half.

Det Insp, Delphine Waring, who lead the investigation, said Marsh and Davis had been rightly sentenced to a significant number of years in prison as punishment for their crimes.

Marsh, who also used the names Tony Taylor and Tony Smith, admitted 34 offences including possessing and distributing indecent images of children, and sexual activity with a child.

Davis, who also used the name James Parkin, pleaded guilty to 20 offences including rape, sexual activity with a child, and taking indecent photographs of a child.

At the sentencing hearing Davis admitted two further charges of taking indecent photographs of a child.

Both men were also jointly charged with conspiracy to commit sexual activity with children.

Their crimes date back to 2005 and relate to 11 teenage boys, aged between 13 and 17, from South Yorkshire, Humberside, the north east, north west and the Midlands.

DI Waring said: “Marsh’s crimes are especially deplorable because of his reckless attitude towards sexual health.”

“Knowing he had HIV, he chose to engage in sexual conduct with teenage boys and in so doing demonstrated a complete disregard for their wellbeing and future health.”

““But for Marsh and Davis’ victims, and their own families, this sentencing will not be the end of the story.”

“The damage these two men have inflicted will last for many years to come.”

“For our part, we have provided every possible support to the boys and the families and will continue to help them as best we can.”
