Big Music is the band’s first album release for five years and their 16th studio album overall.

The touring cast now sees frontman Jim Kerr and guitarist Charlie Burchill joined by stalwart drummer Mel Gaynor, keyboardist Andy Gillespie, Ged Grimes, backing vocalists Sarah Brown and Catherine AD (additional keys and guitar).

Simple Minds are best known for huge hits like Don’t You (Forget About Me), Waterfront, Belfast Child, This is Your Land, Kick It In and Alive and Kicking, which was used by Sky Sports to promote their coverage of the newly-formed FA Premier League in 1992.

This gave their career a new lease of life and broought their music to the attention to a whole new audience of the UK’s football fans.
