South Yorkshire: 70-year-old man killed in car crash as three lose their lives

A 70-year-old South Yorkshire man has been killed in a car crash which resulted in a total of three people losing their lives.

Two others were also seriously injured in the head on collision on Hogsthorpe Road, Chapel St Leonards, at 7pm on Thursday 11th September.

Emergency services were called to the scene where a black Renault Clio had been in collision with a silver Vauxhall Astra.

The driver of the Astra, a man from South Yorkshire, was killed as was the driver of the Renault Clio, a 21-year-old man.

The front seat passenger in the Clio, a 19-year-old man was also killed.

Two other passengers from the Clio were injured. A 23-year-old man was taken to Pilgrim Hospital Boston and transferred to Queen’s Medical Centre with serious injuries and the other, a 21-year-old man was taken to Grimsby Hospital.

Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area and either saw the collision itself or either of the vehicles before the collision to contact 101 or the collision hotline on 01522 558855
