The club came first in young member of the year, with Eleanor Brook, who impressed the judges with her CV and personal statement, a presentation and formal interview.

The debating team also took first spot, winning by 20 clear points, and three members have got on to the Lincolnshire A team for the next round.

Charlie Barrett and Alistair Brook came second and third respectively in the ‘situation vacant’ competition, which saw them apply for a job and undergo a mock interview.

There were third places, too, for the club in the ‘Just a Minute’ and ‘Radio Show’ competitions.

The club will now go through to the East Midlands round of debating and ‘situation vacant’, as well as young member of the year, which will be held at the East Midlands Area competitions weekend at Skegness in March.

Market Rasen YFC meets on Wednesday evenings. Call Eleanor on 07599 053151 for more details.
