A special Christmas feast

Over 45 people enjoyed a special Christmas lunch at Gainsborough House.

The traditional Christmas Day lunch and festive accompaniments is a 36-year-old tradition, held to combat isolation and loneliness in the community.

The meal was provided free of charge to anyone who would otherwise have been spending the day on their own.

Michael Wragg said: “Special appreciation was expressed for the volunteers who gave up their time to cook the meal, to play carols on the piano, to ferry guests to and fro, to make and serve coffee, chat with the guests, serve meals, and generally help ensure that the guests enjoyed a truly festive Christmas Day to remember.”
