Special guests and banner at Isle club's anniversary event
One of the Isle's enduring charity organisations, the Lions, has celebrated its 50th Charter anniversary dinner at the Wortley Hotel, Scunthorpe.
Special guests included Jan de Rijke, the president of the Isle of Axholme’s twin club De Berniise in Holland with his wife Gerry, the Lions’ Club district governor Paul Stafford, and the guest speaker, Isle MP Andrew Percy.
During the evening, two members of North Notts Lions presented the Axholme Lions’ club with a commemorative 50th Anniversary banner. There is a special relationship between the clubs as the Isle Lions sponsored the creation and charter of North Notts in 1969.
