The former Little Chef restaurant on St Anne’s Drive, just off the A57, is currently undergoing a dramatic transformation into a contemporary coffee house.

If the project goes according to schedule, Starbucks will be open in early March.

Fifteen new jobs will be created for local people with the launch of the new enterprise, and the company is currently recruiting.

“We’re looking forward to serving the many customers who pass through St Anne’s Drive, as well as customers from the local Worksop area,” said a Starbucks spokesman.

“We are pleased to be a part of the community, where the new store is expected to create around 15 local jobs.”

“Our stores are designed to fit in with their local area and create a welcoming environment for customers to enjoy their favourite Starbucks drink.”

The new coffee house is located between the Shell petrol station and the Travelodge hotel. Little Chef closed last year after the company fell into financial difficulty.

Starbucks is opening under a partnership with Euro Garages. The companies have committed to opening 300 new stores and creating 5,000 new jobs by 2016.

Coun David Pressley, portfolio holder for community prosperity at Bassetlaw Council said: “We welcome the creation of 15 new jobs that this business will bring to the area. It is pleasing to see another vacant site being brought forward for redevelopment.”
