The ‘Still Me’ project, funded by Louth and District Hospice and delivered by a team at Magna Vitae, works to enrich the lives of local people affected by dementia, whether it be a patient, carer or family member.

Participants at local dementia community groups, including the ‘Memories Matter’ dementia café at the Trinity Centre in Louth, have enjoyed reminiscent theatre, drama and comedy - all designed to evoke memories and a smile.

These entertaining sessions encouraged visitors to get involved in everything from comedy workshops to games, not forgetting the important tea and biscuits.

Mark Humphreys, Managing Director at Magna Vitae, said: “We’re delighted to have been commissioned to design and deliver a programme of enriching opportunities to local people affected by dementia. This innovative and ‘edgy’ approach, working with the Big Difference comedy company has brought out some real emotions and huge smiles upon the faces of the many participants. A must see for anyone affected by dementia.’

John, who attended one of the sessions, said: “Thanks for sticking with me today. You’ve brought me out of myself. I haven’t laughed so much in a long time”.

The tour has filled rooms with laughter and brought smiles to faces all over the county. With three more days of comedy planned, there is still time for anyone affected by dementia to let their hair down:
