Stink leads police to weed parcel

A TRIP to the Post Office has cost a Worksop woman after she was found trying to post a cannabis parcel.

Anna-Marie Day, 38, of Frederick Street, has been given a 12 month community order including 100 hours unpaid work and must pay £85 costs.

Worksop magistrates heard how staff at Gateford Road Post Office became suspicious because of a smelly package on 12th August.

They found Day had handed over a jiffy bag containing 5.02g of the class B drug. She had been trying to post it to a to a third party.

Her co-accused, John Arthur Cutts, 47, also of Frederick Street, was found to have 20 cannabis plants growing in his loft. He will be sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court.
