Stories, services, music, dance and art in Isle Magna Carta celebrations

There is plenty going on this weekend in and around Epworth.

As the Magna Carta 800 Society runs a whole programme of events in celebration of the 800 anniversary of the 1215 sealing of the Magna Carta, an exhibition depicting the Isle in original paintings and photographs will take place.

Staged by the Axholme Art Club and Axholme Camera Club, the exhibition in the Wesley Memorial Church will be open from 10am to 4pm on both Saturday and Sunday.

Other events focus on Epworth’s own connections to the Magna Carta and include local collections from the Mowbray family along with contributions from schools in the Isle.

A Magna Carta and Mowbrays Exhibition features in Epworth’s parish church.
