Sturgate: Jury discharged in armed robbery trial

A man accused of staging an armed robbery at a Lincolnshire village post office is to face a retrial after the jury at Lincoln Crown Court was today (Thursday, August 13) discharged.

Anton Stepniewski, 26, of Sturgate, near Gainsborough, is accused of carrying out a raid at the post office in Fiskerton near Lincoln

He has denied charges of robbery and possession of an imitation firearm with intent to commit robbery on February 10, this year.

Judge Michael Heath discharged the jury of eight women and four men for legal reasons.

A retrial is to be held on a later date.
