Sturton: Dick Turnip panto raises funds as well as laughs

Sturton Village Hall Improvement Fund were delighted to receive a substantial cheque recently after a rather humorous and entertaining production of Dick Turnip by local amateur dramatics group A Touch of Class and friends.

With a cast of 19 players and robberies by Dick the Highwayman woven into the story, the performance was full of laughter and was a fun alternative to the original story of the famous highwayman Dick Turpin.

The cast were dressed in a colourful array of period costumes and gave great family entertainment with songs and audience participation throughout.

The pantomime took place at Sturton Village Hall on the 30th and 31st of January and was full for the three performances which had an original script written by Sue Leonard and Joyce Newth who also produced and directed it.
