Sutton-based Chelsea fan who boarded the SAME train an hour before racist attacks blasts ‘so-called’ fans’ actions

Amateur video footage emerged of the Chelsea supporters chanting “we’re racist, we’re racist and that’s the way we like it” while a black man is repeatedly pushed from boarding the train on Tuesday.

UK police are examining the footage - captured by a British fan prior to the Champions League match against Paris St Germain - to help identify the men involved.

Chelsea superfan Sean Moore, of Woodlands Way, Sutton, was in Paris at the time and was on the same train just an hour earlier and was appalled by the ‘supposed’ fans’ actions.

He had gone to the game for his honeymoon after getting married on Saturday at Mansfield Registration Office.

“Those five morons, in five minutes have done more damage to the club and football fans in general, than anything else in the past 20 years. It is not good for football and all the good work the FA are doing on racism.

“They are utter morons who need to be caught and punished for what they have done. There is no excuse for it.”

He said the men should be banned for life or even jailed.

“I was upset at hearing about it, they are not real supporters. They are bullies who go looking to cause trouble and now real fans are going to be tarred with the same brush.”

Despite the club’s history of racism he said that was a thing of the past.

“Racism was rife in the 70s and 80s and was disgraceful, but look how much that has changed. The one black player who was booed when he came on the pitch by players has been replaced with a possibly half a team of respected black players. Times have changed but there are still a few think racism is acceptable, and they need to be made an example of by the authorities to show it will not be tolerated by them or other football fans.”

The Metropolitan Police said it would help French authorities investigate the incident and support any action they chose to implement.

A spokesman for the police said: “We will examine the footage with a view to seeing if we can apply for football banning orders, preventing people from travelling for future matches.”

The London-based club condemned the incident and said any fans involved would face a ban.
