Swapping pints for boots

CHARITY-minded regulars from Maltby’s Haynook pub swapped their pints for a pair of walking boots as they strode out on a 46-mile trek to aid local girl Niamh Power.

In the latest of events to raise money for Niamh, the walkers trecked the 42-mile Lyke Wake walk. Starting near Osmotherley, the group walked for a solid 18 hours and finished at Ravenscar, near Whitby.

Landlord Ged Booth said: “We were all happy to do whatever we could for Niamh. We have been doing lots of fundraising and people in the community will do whatever they can to help. The walk was hard work, but we were all spurred on and inspired by this very special and brave little girl.”
