The event is one of the biggest community projects of the year, with probably the biggest feel-good factor - say organisers.

It takes place from Monday, April 10, to Thursday, April 13 - starting from Boston Borough Council in West Street.

There will be opportunities for teams of neighbours, friends and relatives to work together, helping clean up their own areas.

Jen Moore, at Boston Borough Council, said: “The Big Boston Clean-up has proved a successful community event over the past nine years, and we look forward to welcoming all our usual supporters and hopefully new ones to mark the tenth anniversary.

“We start at 9am and finish at 3pm each day, but volunteers can do as little or as much as they want to. There’s a coffee break and a free lunch provided each day.”

You can sign up now using the online pledge form, by contacting Jen Moore at Boston Borough Council on 01205 314583 or by emailing Jen at [email protected]

Jen also wants to hear of any grot spots that you think need particular attention.

There will be a Big Schools Clean-up before the Easter break when primary school children will clear litter from in and around their school grounds. If your school has not so far signed up and wants to be involved, email Tracey Banks at [email protected]

Volunteers need to wear clothing appropriate to anticipated weather conditions and stout footwear. High-visibility vests, litter pickers etc are provided.
