North Lincolnshire Magistrates Court ordered Mr Kuyumcu imposed the fine because he:

Failed to ensure that the food premises were kept clean and in good repair and condition

Failed to ensure that adequate hand washing facilities were provided

Failed to maintain a permanent food management system.

North Lincolnshire Council Food Safety Team uncovered the offences following routine visits to the premises in November 2013 and February 2014.

The standards at the premises have since improved.

Councillor Nigel Sherwood, cabinet member for Highways and Neighbourhoods at North Lincolnshire Council, said: “The council takes very seriously any offences under food hygiene law and this case emphasises the fact that food business operators must be aware that it is their duty to meet the requirements of the food hygiene regulations at all times. We will take appropriate action on those that fail to take advice and continue to put consumers at risk.”
