Stephen Nutley and friends will be setting off on May 27 on the two-day, 295km ride from Dublin to Westport in aid of Headway, the brain injury association, in memory of Stephen’s mum Maureen, who died three years ago from a large brain haemorrhage.

Her final wish was to have her ashes scattered from the top of Croagh Patrick mountain in County Mayo, Ireland. It has become a family tradition for relatives to climb the mountain to pay their respects.

Steve came up with the trip to help others in their position and the team have had tops sponsored by David Marshall at Total Sports and Supplements to help cover costs.

At the end of the two day ride they will hike or run up the 2,507ft mountain.
