Teenager charged with attempted murder after alleged '˜hit-and-run' on A631

A teenager has been remanded in custody after being charged with attempted murder on a Bassetlaw road.

James Smith, aged 19, of Summergangs Lane, Gainsborough, is also charged with dangerous driving.

Both charges relate to a collision involving a 4x4 vehicle and a pedestrian on the A631 near Beckingham at around 11.15am on Tuesday 26 April 2016.

The victim, also a male aged 19, received serious injuries in the collision.

Smith appeared at Nottingham Crown Court on Monday (9 May 2016) and has been remanded until next month.
