Teenagers mammoth bike ride for charity

A GROUP of young cycling enthusiasts are preparing for a mammoth charity ride.

Wales High pupils Jake Stanfield and Tom White will cycle from London to Paris in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust, along with their friends Jake Higgins and Ben Lowe.

They are hoping to raise £1,400 each for the ride, which will take place on 15th-19th August.

Jake said the group, who all have a passion for cycling, hope to raise more than their £5,600 target.

He and Tom have set up several fundraising evenst at Wales High including non-uniform days and selling charity wristbands, and hope to hold several more events before their trip.

Jake, who is currently studying for his A-Levels, said: “We chose the charity because it does a fantastic job for young people suffering with cancer.”

“Also a girl in Wales High is currently suffering from breast cancer.”

“She’s a huge inspiration to all pupils and staff at Wales, we thought choosing her preferred charity was the least we could do.”
