Temporary closure

A RECYCLING centre in Retford is to temporarily close for several months to undergo a refurbishment.

The Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) on Hallcroft Road will be closed from 8pm on Sunday 4th September.

The work will be carried out by Veolia Environmental Services who are Notts County Council’s waste contractors.

The site, which will be closed for approximately 12 weeks, will become a single-level site to make better use of the available space. The number of containers available will also be increased and a new one-way system will be installed to help with the flow of traffic.

Whilst the work is being carried out, residents are advised that the closest alternative recycling centre is approximately 10 miles away from the Retford site – Worksop HWRC on Shireoaks Road, Worksop.

Kevin Parker, communications manager said: “The refurbishment will make the HWRC a lot more customer-friendly and efficient meaning that more vehicles can park up and unload at one time. This refurbishment is part of our commitment to renovate and improve all HWRCs across the county.”

“We do, however, apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause over the next 12 weeks and look forward to reopening the site.”
