The event, hosted at Warcop Camp, spans 10 action-packed days, with abseiling, clay target shooting, archery, raft building, and kayaking all on the agenda.

The camp also provides the chance to spend a number of nights living out in the field, learning military tactics and fieldcraft in mock ambush situations.

Speaking ahead of the event, Bill Thompson, spokesman for Lincolnshire Army Cadet Force, said: “Our cadets will experience a very full programme, designed to develop and test their skills.

“Annual camp really is non-stop but the evenings can also provide a time to relax and socialise. Some cadets, no doubt, will want to be involved in the many optional sporting activities or even audition for the battalion’s own version of X-Factor!

“For many though, it will be the opportunity to make new friends that will be valued the most.”
