Large amounts of black smoke have been seen pouring from the building and one villager said he has just seen yet more fire appliances streaking through the village to support the efforts of the firefighters.

He said: “The building is next door to the Jigsaw ambulance depot sand they have not been able to go out to their jobs picking up patients for hospital transport.”

A fire service spokesman said: “This is a fire in a steel-framed building used for food processing approximately 30m by 30m. The fire has gone through the roof.”

Two appliances at incident have come from Sleaford, one from Doningto, one from Kirton, one from Brant Broughton, one from Spalding, one from Lincoln South, one from Bourne, one from Woodhall Spa, a water carrier from Holbeach, Command Support Unit from Market Rasen and the Aerial Ladder Platform from Boston.

Andrew Bradley, who works at SAMS auto repairs on the estate, said the fire had sent exploding peanut shells into the air showering the area with shells and ash.
