Tenants sign-up to lease offices in refurbished Crown House building

Notts Police and the Probation Service have become the first tenants at the Crystal owned Crown House in Worksop town centre.

The Service has agreed a new lease on the 5,800 sq ft first floor office space in the building for three-years.

Crown House is a landmark building in the town centre, sitting at the junction of Newcastle Avenue and Hardy Street, opposite the bus station.

But it has been empty since the DWP, which previously used it, moved out.

Sales Director Mark Carling said: “We have been in discussions with Notts Police for a while, so we are delighted to see this deal finally fall into place.”

There has been a great deal of interest in the building, which is currently undergoing a major refurbishment, both for its offices and a new 5,800 sq ft retail opportunity on the ground floor.

Coun David Pressley, portfolio holder for economic regeneration said he hoped that the new tenants would make Worksop a permanent base.

“It is always pleasing to see buildings bought back into use in Worksop,” he continued.

“This was previously the DWP building and it has been empty for a couple of years.”

“We hope that the new occupiers will see this as a permanent base.”

“Although this isn’t an increase in the retail offering of the town, it is still something to be welcomed as part of the regeneration of Worksop.”

“People that work in the town tend to shop in the town and the more employers that come in the better.”
