The pews in Louth are filled with fashion

Prayers in the pews were swapped for fascinating fashions on Saturday evening as St James' Church in Louth played host to the town's biggest fashion show to date.

Having organised the whole event single handedly, from designing the clothes to organising the models and music, the event was an outstanding success.

This was echoed by the standing ovation that Ashley received from the 100-plus audience that ventured out to catch a glimpse of his new collection.

Ashley spoke to me for the Louth Leader after the show. He said: “I am so thrilled and overwhelmed with how well the event went down with everyone on Saturday evening. For my first fashion show, and the launch of my label ‘Preach’- it couldn’t have gone better.”

Having been invited to go along and see the collection for myself, it was great to feel like I could have been sitting on the front row at a show at London Fashion Week, an event which has also been under way during the last few days.

The designs from Ashley’s collection were flawless and innovative, with some beautiful monochrome dresses, both midi length and floor length, that certainly turned a lot of heads during the show.

There were so many amazing pieces, designs like no other I have yet seen in the area. So maybe I will see some of Ashley’s dresses appear on a clothing rail in a boutique near here very soon.

It was a very enjoyable evening and an event I have not had the privilege of covering before in my career, which made a nice change.

The event was also a charitable one, as a portion of the ticket sales was in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Ashley added: “I would just like to take this opportunity to thank all of the amazing models; Daria Pipczynska, Amber Roberts, Tia Lydon, Charlotte Skelhorn and Zanna Nachorna.

“Thank you to all the stylists at Re-Invention Hair Salon in Louth for doing the hair and Elle Chaplin for doing the make-up as well as photographers Steve Coxon and Rachel Dixon.

“Finally I must give a special mention to my family for all their help and to the team at St James’ Church for their support.”

If you weren’t able to make the show over the weekend, then don’t panic, you can now see all of the pieces from Ashley’s show online and they are now available for purchase.
