Theddlethorpe Primary School is set to join the the highly successful Tollbar Family of Academies.
The school, which has been run by an Interim Executive Board since the Ofsted ruling, has been notified by the Department for Education that it will join Tollbar Multi Academy Trust, which is responsible for turning around the fortunes of several local schools. The Trust held an information evening for parents and pupils last week.
Theddlethorpe will be overseen by Executive Principal Christine Lacey, who is also responsible for improving the fortunes of Reynolds Academy in Cleethorpes and has many years’ experience working with schools in special measures. She will become Executive Principal overseeing both academies.
Christine said: “I am looking forward to working with the new academy to ensure that all children there have access to the best educational experience. Having another primary school in the family will allow us to share all those successful strategies that moved Reynolds on so quickly to become a good school.”
David Hampson, Tollbar Multi Academy Trust Chief Executive, said: “We are delighted to welcome Theddlethorpe Academy to the Trust. We are a family of academies and we work together to improve the fortunes of every member within the trust.
“We have proven that, with a tremendous amount of hard work and excellent staff, we can deliver exceptional education and we intend to do the same at Theddlethorpe.”
