Thurcroft: Band hits a happy note with new instruments

Coun John Swift, of Rotherham Council made the presentation to the band, whihc currently has around 30 members and undertakes regular concerts and contests in the local area.

Musical director Ken Vernon said, “ We are very grateful for the continued support of Coun Swift and the Community Development Foundation which has provided the band with uniforms and much needed instruments in the past few years.”

“We are very proud of our training band, which continues to go from strength to strength and the instruments are particularly welcome as the band has grown considerably in size this year.”

“It is great that Thurcroft has a training band that people of any age with an interest in making music can join. “

“Everyone works hard and enjoys rehearsals and the events the band takes part in. “
