Time standing still at Bigby
It is 100 years since the clock on the tower of the parish church was installed and the problem for a number of years has been the clock has to be wound manually, with someone from the church mounting the steps twice a week to do the task.
Now the church is looking to raise £5,000 so an automatic mechanism can be installed.

A 60’s night raised £600 to get the appeal under way and that amount has been boosted by a further £470 raised at a ‘Songs through the Decades’ concert by Brigg Operatic Society.
An afternoon tea to mark the Queen’s 90th birthday added further to the fund.
Villagers hope the target will be reached by the end of the year, with the official time in the village moving forward again on the tower of the 13th century church.
